Gurro, Rustic at Sale

Gurro is a small village located in the upper Cannobina Valley, has 122 inhabitants. Easily reachable from Cannobio (16 km), if you come from Lake Maggiore, or from Malesco (18 km), if you come from the nearby Valle Vigezzo, this small village has a very ancient history. It is said that its origin dates back to 1525, the year in which some Scottish mercenary soldiers camped in the village without leaving.
Gurro still preserves an ancient old town centre with stone houses with large wooden loggias, narrow one to the other, and small streets that cross the entire town centre. In the centre of the old village there is the Ethnographic Museum of the Cannobina Valley, the "Circolo degli Scozzesi", two bars, restaurants and shops.
