Trarego Viggiona is a small mountain municipality, with about 450 inhabitants, located in a privileged and sunny position on Lake Maggiore, at an altitude of 700-800 meters above sea level, about 6 kilometers up from Cannero. It is characterized by the narrow alleys between the stone Houses and the beautiful lake view.
It consists of three small towns: Trarego, Cheglio and Viggiona. The road that reaches it continues to Passo di Colle, over 1200 meters, and then descend south towards Verbania.

Numerous festivals enliven the life of Trarego Viggiona, many of which are linked to local food and wine and folklore. The event "I sentieri dell'arte" (The paths of art), which takes place every year at Easter, is well known and sees Trarego turn into a huge open-air atelier of another level.
In Trarego there are bars and restaurants, the school, the post office and the town hall.
